From the narrative standpoint of the GM, lighting is no different in Starfinder than it is in the real world. From the tactical standpoint of a flipmat, use the rules for the light sources you have.
Like portable lights.
For the radius of dim light, generally, "[a]n area just beyond the range of a light source has dim light". I'd probably say 5 feet, personally, but I know several GMs who use the same distance for dim light as normal light.
