Hi everyone,

Really glad there's an actual play forum now. If you've not listened to us before then I wanted to introduce The Danger Club Podcast to you.

We're a UK based weekly actual play show with 6 voice actors sitting in a studio in an old Georgian mansion in East London, playing Pathfinder. We started in PF1 and converted the campaign to PF2 last summer.

Rather than playing a single AP we're playing modules and tying them together to form one epic story, the idea is to have a show that feels like the campaigns you play at home. So far we've done Murder's Mark, Godsmouth Heresy, Fall of Plaguestone and we're just rounding off Masks of the Living God. We also do some one shots, interviews and early plays of new content (new ancestries etc).

We have high quality sound and full SFX and music for every ep. We also once fought the Kaer Maga postal service. New 1hr eps drop every Monday on iTunes, Google, Spotify, Youtube and everywhere else you might care to look for podcasts.

Absalom, the city at the center of the world! The Club have arrived in the largest city in the Inner Sea in search of the Pathfinder Society. They're looking for information about the Shard, but first they need to learn more than they wanted to know about Beelzeboob.

I‘m just queuing this up and am wondering where I should start. I’m keen to find some 2E podcasts, so was thinking about jumping in where you began those. However, did you convert characters over? If you did I should probably start at the beginning...

Any advice?


Hi Steve,

We started in PF1 and converted As soon as 2e came out last year. If you just want the 2nd Edition eps then they start from Ep 67. But we also have the Fall of Plaguestone playthrough which ran a few weeks before that over Gencon weekend.
It's all one story though so you'll definitely get more out of it if you start from the beginning

The Audio isn't perfect in the first handful of eps but it picks up really quickly (plus there's a weird Elephant guy in the early eps who's pretty fun).

Early episodes get a pass from me when it comes to audio quality. I usually listen to the first half dozen and if it’s still terrible then skip to episode fifty. Provided people have sorted out teething problems after a year, I’m happy (they always have!) then I go back to the early episodes confident things will improve. :)

I'm a few episodes in and very much enjoying it (a refreshing change to hear an actual play podcast without American accents!)

The sound quality is great - I was amused to hear the party rattle off their alignments: Chaotic Neutral, Chaotic Neutral, Chaotic Neutral.... Yep, that tracks. ;)

Thanks Steve. Glad you're enjoying it! There's a bit of clarifying on the alignments as it goes along but everyone started off from a fairly similar place.

I think my favourite thing (after thirty something episodes) is the group dynamic/camaraderie. The guys really consistently play well off each other - there’s a fair bit of mockery but the target usually enjoys it as much as everyone else.

I’m looking forward to catching up (and listening to you branch out into some other games/characters). Granted it’s still a ways off!


You'll get there Steve. The thirties is where it starts getting really interesting!

By the way, Dan - I'm sure the scars have healed by now but just got to the bit in Godsmouth Heresy where the internet collectively lampooned you for holding the guys to account when they forgot who had given them their quest and even what the quest actually was.

FWIW, I thought it played out well and was by default the correct call as everyone at the table seemed to enjoy it. I suspect you were too hard on yourself in the way you phrased it on your 'request for feedback'. Plus there's a difference between games-for-an-audience and games-at-home, in my opinion.

Anyhow - I thought it was funny and suited both the characters and the story down to the ground. On to the next story arc. :)

I guess this thread is just me and Dan, BUT if anyone sticks their head in here and haven’t yet looked into the Danger Club I would thoroughly recommend it.

It’s one of the best out there, imo. Glass Cannon Podcast and Critical Role level of entertainment. Great sound quality, group chemistry, story development, characters....it includes my single favourite moment of Actual Play Podcasting of all time.

I loved the early stuff, but I think it really got going after the first twenty or so episodes. Since then it’s just week after week of superb quality content. <3
