What's your opinion of them is it good, bad or do you not know enough. Thought I would post these Youtube videos here they are from Guerrilla Miniature Games and cover some points that might be helpful.

Watched these and have given some thought about it. But that is just my opinion.

I looked these up after you mentioned them (tried to find written articles as I find videos take too long to get to the point, though thanks for the links).

For those reading this thread who are unaware, the gist appears to be these paints are sort of a stain or "thicker wash," gel-like with a little more opacity, that when you paint over a light primer, it colors the mini in such a way that you more or less instantly get something brightly colored but is appropriately dark in the crevices and bright/light on top. You need to do a more thorough prep (from what I read, best results were obtained by priming thoroughly with a darker gray and then doing a "highlight prime" with a lighter gray or cream color), but then a few coats of this and you have a fully painted, table ready model, without a whole lot of need for technique. That said you do need to practice with them to get the feel for them. Once you get the feel for them and get the priming done, painting a whole bunch of minis at once goes very quickly with these.

Looks great especially for people who are trying to get an army on the table very quickly.

Where I am in the hobby, normally painting in detail a few models at a time for my own enjoyment, I probably won't prioritize getting them. But had these existed when I was paid to paint my friend's 3,000 pts of Space Marines (in a fairly short turnaround) and still have them look decent... hell yes I would have invested in them.

I feel similar to DeathQuacker. Thre are a few photo albums ive seen this week of experimenting (including painting right onto Reaper bones, which worked better then I expected) It seems like it basicly removes the 'wash' step in painting, best results I've seen has been prime, Contrast, hi-light, detail.
