We know that Khonnir Baine's second expedition met its dark fate in room C2 of the Science Deck (with the exception of Gerrol Sonder). But this brings up some questions:
* - Who were they? (At least, what were their classes and levels?)
* - Where are their bodies?
* - More importantly, what happened to their gear?
If this has already been addressed elsewhere, please point me at where to look.

These questions are not answered in the module. For my Iron Gods campaign, I invented the following answers.
Who were they? The players never asked. Since my wife's PC Boffin was an employee of Khonnir Baine via Local Ties campaign trait, I would have consulted with her and invented some names and backstories if it had mattered.
Where are their bodies? That relates to another question: where are the bodies of the original crew? I had the robots gather all bodies and deliver them to the Sick Bay, room C12. I added a few gurneys to the room, but even so, the beds and gurneys were piled high with dead bodies.
What happened to their gear? Their gear was still on their bodies. My players don't loot much. After the adventure, the party retrieved the bodies for proper burial and the gear was given to the families of the dead. THe dead crew was buried secretly to hide the results of the expedition from Technic League spies.
I would recommend picking some 2nd- and 3rd-level characters from the NPC Gallery in the Game Mastery Guide. Two caravan guards can become two volunteers from the Torch town guard, Darryl and Rolo. A cultist with some changes in alignment, spells, and weapon can become the strongest assistant cleric from Joram Kyte's temple of Brigh (Brigh's favored weapon is light hammer). A wanderer can become a traveling bard who volunteered and joined Khonnir's expedition rather than a riskier expedition. Khonnir Baine and Gerrol Sonder finish up a six-person expedition.

Alternately, level-appropriate characters can be chosen from the NPC Guide. I LOVE that book!

These are great ideas! Thank You.
Fortunately, my group also never asked, but I though I should bring this up in case some future group doesn't miss this glaring plot hole.
