I guess another question I should’ve asked with this is if the second edition of pathfinder is going to have any kind of impact on the pawn products or if they will be unaffected by the new edition?
I don't think there is any official answer on that: Paizo hasn't released any details on which specific Second Edition products they're planning to make. While they have announced that all of the PF1E Pocket Edition rulebooks will continue to remain in print "for as long as people are buying them," they have not said anything about what the future will hold for the existing Pathfinder Pawn Sets. (I'm pretty sure that the only ones they do reprint now are the Bestiary Boxes.)
That said... I think it's safe to assume that there will continue to be monsters in the game, and I think it's also safe to assume that grid-based combat will also continue to be the standard... meaning that any Pawn Sets you buy now will continue to be useful for PF2E. (Or, for that matter, any 1" grid RPG system, like 5E... I've certainly used Pathfinder Pawns in 5E games!)
