Aboleths and Azlant

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Why exactly did the aboleths help the humans make their first civilization/empire? Considering they are almost always LE I highly doubt it was for any altruistic reason.

The Ruins of Azlant AP answers this question exhaustively.

Can you give me the Cliff Notes version?

First of all - I am not American. I don't have an idea what Cliff Notes area. The Anglosaxon culture might have become ubiquitous and there are many elements of 'Murican cultural code that are recognisable worldwide but ... not all of them. You owe me .10c + VAT for having to Google that.

Second, the Pathfinderwiki article on Aboleths contains the basics and honestly reading up the Ruins of Azlant is your best bet, because whatever I would type in here would only lead to more questions which ultimately are better answered by the AP.
