Does attacking with Athez and her Cold damage make it magical?

Not much luck searching and my brain is failing me on remembering since it's been awhile, but would using Athez to attack for Zetha and adding the cold and melee trait make it overall magical, for those enemies not defeated unless the attack is magical? I feel like it should be assumed success cold would be magical, in my mind, but sometimes that doesn't work I know.

No. Ahtez's rule only adds the Cold and Melee traits; it doesn't add the Magic trait. Neither of Zetha's roles has power feats that add the Magic trait to her checks.

Word, thanks. Got to figure out a way to overcome that now.

Enchanted Fang (Spell B) is probably one of the best ways, at least early on. It adds a d4 and the Magic trait to Zetha's attack.

There's also some rugrat that might help.

Reviewing the Summoner deck, it looks like the options are:

Enchanted Fang, Spell B, Basic (like MorkXII said).
Staff of Cackling Wrath, Item 2.
Wand of Scorching Ray, Item 3.
Create Spiked Pit, Spell 3 (this is not an Attack spell).
Evocation Staff, Item 5.
Master's Lash, Weapon 6.
Summon Infernal Host, Spell 6 (again, not Attack).

Also, Create Pit, Spell B Basic can evade a monster (difficulty 12 or lower) and put it on the bottom of the deck. Not an answer vs a henchman or villain that requires Magic, but temporarily gets you past a low-level monster of the same stripe.

There's a Strength/Melee weapon Staff of Dark Flame, but that's not a good option for Zetha.
