Technical question: is there any way to validate a PFS / OP ID?

I'm curious whether there's any (acceptable) way to validate someone's ownership of a PFS ID (which is now called an organized play ID) or the characters underneath that ID.

A nice consolation prize would be a way to validate the existence of the ID/character, similar to the API used by the reporting interface.

In particular I'm looking for technical solutions for a web project I'm working on.

I believe the answer is no, but you never know for sure until you ask!

There might be a way for Paizo to just check a PFS ID# against an email, but not against a real-world identity, and no one else should be able to do that without signing an NDA. All of the reporting info is private - and since it basically provides time/date/location information for people, it's not something you want folks to have access to.

If the player signs in to his Paizo account (and I think any likely solution will start there,) Partner Authorizations generates a confirmation code, that presumably the player can give to Paizo's partner and said partner can pass back to Paizo to verify connection to the account. It would be useful for it also to e-mail the player, but it doesn't seem to.

This would require action from the player and Paizo.

Aha, that's exactly the sort of thing I was hoping for, Starglim. Thanks! They're obviously limiting it, but it's nice to know what their plans are and what their future interoperability plans might look like.
