Can a Gutbite Belt be enhanced in PFS? It’s a named item, but the description specifically says it can be upgraded as a weapon. If so, would you just pay the 2,000, 8,000, 18,000, etc. cost on top of the 4,500 base cost (fame allowing)?
Obvious follow-up question. Can it be made of special materials?
There was a similar thread about the Blades Belt a while back. It would be great to know how to handle these items and any others that contain similar wording.

I agree. My hope would be Yes to magical enhancement, no to special materials. The reasoning would be that since magical enhancement is called out in the description, it's an exception to the PFS rules against customizing named items. Special materials, however, are not referenced. So probably no. Also, it's not just a weapon. It's also a belt slot item. So making it adamantine might cost different than a weapon.
It's doubtful I'd enhance it anyway, as the plan would be to eventually replace it with Anaconda's Coils. The Bladed Belt could come up for a non grappling build, though, so a general answer on how to handle these type of items would be great. Campaign Clarifications for the two mentioned items would also be great, just a slight bit less so.
