Aquatic Languages

Homebrew

I'm working on a homebrew adventure for my players in a homebrew setting; those details aren't super important to this question but just don't point to anything Paizo-specific as gospel, though I'm definitely open to suggestions based on any canon material you have or know about.

The adventure takes place on an oceanic world thought to be uninhabited by sapient beings, but the players will come across a Stone-to-Bronze Age race of intelligent, aquatic fish people (yes, this is at least half because one of my players is really, really excited for The Shape of Water). They aren't evil shark people but I am calling them "Sahuagin" for now in my notes (though I'd much rather think of a new name in their own language, because they are significantly different in a lot of ways). What I want is a plausible enough interpretation of an aquatic language as spoken by a human tongue, just for flavor for names of individuals, places, and creatures from their point of view, but I'm having trouble coming up with that.

So, yeah, that's just about it. I tried googling examples of words from Aquan or Sahuagin in D&D or Pathfinder but haven't turned up anything very useful. I found a lot of Aklo suggestions but I don't think that really fits my vision. I think what I want is something within a stone's throw of whale song, with long vowels and soft consonants, but my (now obsolete) Linguistics skill is a bit too low to figure out what that should look like.

Any tips?
