Clarification on Elves and Drow

Rules Questions

So going from this excerpt and several other references on page 507 of the Core Rules:

"The primary exception to all of these tendencies are the drow—purple-skinned elves who reject the company of their brethren to live on Apostae-"
There's also reference that the drow on Apostae were part of the Pact Council. Orcs and Half-Orcs also tend to come out of Apostae. The drow-elves also are essentially galactic arms dealers.

For the purpose of Character Creation, are drow considered stat-wise to be the same as other elves?

Socially, do they follow the same general rules as elves from the standpoint of a few strays out seeking adventure may be encountered out in the galaxy?

The entry sounds, in my interpretation at least- to imply them as playable and encounterable straight from the Core Rules.

I'm open to being wrong- but I'd love to be right.

Not so much: Compare the drow from Pathfinder.

Culturally they may be different in various ways, and we probably won't know many details until a full treatment of them shows up in a book. From the Core Rulebook we know they still worship demons, but they seem to have become more integrated with mainstream society.

Physiologically, Pathfinder races seem to have mostly survived unchanged into the Starfinder era. Regular elves have held onto their +2 Dex/+2 Int/–2 Con, so absent any information to the contrary it should be reasonable to assume Starfinder drow still have +2 Dex/+2 Cha/–2 Con, Darkvision, normal elven immunities, and magical prowess. For a homebrew drow you'll have to improvise a little, since some of their Pathfinder traits would no longer be perfectly transferable into Starfinder rules.

I'd recommend converting the PF Drow wholesale, converting darkness to fog cloud and either removing poison use or having it reduce the time it takes them to apply poison to melee weapons. Oh, and removing weapon familiarity.

We may get Starfinder drow statistics in the Alien Archive.

In a sense that's what my question revolves around- are the mentions in the Core Rules just that (information to the contrary)?

My cause for thinking that is this- if they did, over the course of time, come to be system-wise the same as elves except for purple skin and their society- would we really need any further information than what is presented in the Core Rules? We have an entry for elves that points out the similarities, the differences, and their relation to one another as well as an entry on Apostae (the 'homeworld').

Going back to the Pathfinder Core, if I recall correctly there isn't any mention of drow on the Elves page (absolutely correct me if I am wrong- I don't have my book on hand atm).

So is their inclusion on the elves page made with that intent?

Or is it "Stay Tuned for Alien Archive" ?

All that said, I know a simple "House Rule" could be used as clarification in the mean-time. But I'm genuinely curious because honestly I'd love to see that some of the races have evolved or adapted to some extent to the new setting/environment.

Well for one, it'd be weird if drow lost their darkvision. So I'm going to assume elf stats != drow stats.
