Previews of Map tiles

Scarab Sages

Start off again apologising for over posting on individual products.

Would it be possible to have previews of all the Gamemastery map pack.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

I once created a preview, but I think it was more trouble than it was worth.

You can find it here near the middle.

Thanks for the links.

I know Vic has stated before that they were going to have previews for the map pack and some of them do. I know they are all busy with projects and will get to it soon.

I am just trying to decide which one/s to get. Hard with no previews.

Well, I can always tell you what I think. I have every one they ever made.

The idea that they will get previews or thumbnails anytime soon seems rather ludicrious given that is was brought up back in 2007 and still has not been done. I love Paizo to death, but you really can't appreciate something unless you can see what it is. I buy the things blind because I am pretty much a completists as well as being fond of the work.

I decided to create my previews because I really want the Map Packs to sell. I want people to see what this product is and what it can do for everyone's game. However, it takes work to get such things up for everyone to view. I was going to do it myself but I am sure that it would backfire (lawyers and company logos for instance). What really needs to be done is to get the original computer work and have it scaled to whatever size they deem to preview. That would save a step and keep things consistent. I am sure they would sell more of this product if they did create previews, but somehow this just isn't a priority for them. Paizo is a bit guilty of having the best quality without having the greatest visibility to those that would buy their products. I am a firm believer, but Jo-Schmo isn't convinced becuase he never buys anything before he/she sees it.

My collecting habits are the same.

I decided to take a punt. I got the village pack years ago dirt cheap on ebay and I will be using inns pack in a game Tuesday. I got inns from the treasure chest.

I decided with the 10% holiday discount and nice discounts to shipping to get most of the rest as I will be using them in my RotRL campaign.

I completely agree that it is strange to see no previews. I would recommend to Paizo that their previews be like the one in village. Were you can see the minis on the map incase they are worried people on the net will steal the image.

I will be reviewing the map packs soon too. They are good map tiles but you certainly need a good imagination to use them.

I apologize. I could almost feel myself eating my own words as I wrote them. Paizo is now putting up great images for their latest products. Caravans and Ancient Forests have previews. Kudos.

The art department has been tasked with making previews for every set just like the ones on Ancient Forest... but it's to be done after they do stuff that's deadline-oriented. So it make take some time—especially for the older ones, where we also have to retrieve the files from offline media.

They look fantastic as I would hope. It is too bad that so many of those products didn't get the view everyone should have seen. Oh well, I hope the product survived this long because word of mouth did the trick.

I love the things myself.
