Soldier Question

I'm making a backup character for a new Starfinder campaign my DM is running and I'm making a soldier/mercenary. I'm choosing my primary fighting combat style and the Bombard one looks appealing to me because free grenades and heavy weapons. According to the description, you don't get grenade proficiency which makes it really strange as Bombard would then force you to take grenade proficiency at level one. Is this intentional?

Soldiers already come with Grenade Proficiency by default, so you're in the clear :)

Soldiers get grenade proficiency as part of their base class, so the bombard fighting style doesn't need to provide it.
