If we were to make this a viable option. How would we adjust the dragon disciple class?
My first ideas:
- spontaneous psychic spells would work as class requirement.
- form of the dragon options would alternate to form of the alien dragon.
Am I missing anything?
Also... Would this be overpowered in any way?

Actually, there are rules for Esoteric Bloodlines in Legacy of Dragons. You might want to start from there. To be honest though, I don't really like the changes. I had this idea for a time dragon with a gang of kobold relatives from the future/past (It's complicated.) and I'll just give them cold resistance instead of the suggested electricity resistance.
What you're suggesting doesn't seem overpowered, though I'm not familiar with Form of the Alien Dragon. If it's the same level as Form of the Dragon it shouldn't be that much of a problem.
That sounds fine. As David says, take a look at Legacy of Dragons.

Yep, I've read those bloodlines. Esoteric dragon bloodline makes me want to go crossblooded with the psychic bloodline, just to complete the idea.

The reason I thought it might be too strong is that psychic casting allows for armor. And full plate combined with +7 natural armor bonus isn't weak. Also, spells like glimpse of the akashic might overdo it if you team up with your draconic bloodline familiar mauler fox, transmuted into whatever and sharing your buffs through improved share spells...
But all this can be achieved with the arcane version. Except that by raw, you can't use form of the dragon anymore if you're a dragon disciple of level 7 or higher with a bloodline that isn't chromatic or metallic...
