Pathfinder has had great success with all things piratey. Skulls and shackles is probably one of their most played APs, up there with Kingmaker and Rise of the Runelords. I've been to tons of conventions and local gaming days and people are always clamoring for a good pirates game. But with all these people wanting to be pirates it makes you think there's nothing else to do on the high seas. So today I look at some of the other things floating on the inner sea that are not pirates.
Have you run a game for you players that is on a ship, but not pirates? What sort of seafaring related jobs have your players used as their backgrounds? Why do you think pirates are the biggest draw of games asea?
