So I have the The Emerald Spire in hardcover and am planning to run a game for my pals in roll20. I was wondering if I buy the flip-map pdf, would I be able to just simply copy and make it fit on roll20, or would I be better off making all of the dungeons from scratch myself, assuming money is a non issue? I don't want to waste getting the pdf if I can't copy it over, since I can draw the maps myself from the hardcover.

It is possible to extract the images from PDF flip-mats. From my experience, Paizo generally embeds 150 DPI images in their flip mats so that they'll print nicely.
For VTT purposes, since each square is an inch across, that means each square will be 150 pixels across. Roll20 expects 70 pixels to the square by default, iirc. So you may need to adjust the grid size in Roll20, or else resize the image itself in an image editing program beforehand.

You need to extract the images from the PDF before you can upload them to roll20. In Adobe Reader (and probably other PDF viewers as well, although I do not have personal experience with them), left-click the map with the select tool to highlight it, then right-click and choose "Save Image As..." This will save it as a .jpg file which you can then upload to roll20. If file size is an issue (they seem to be about 1.5 MB each), you can use an image manipulation program to downsize it or reduce the file quality to further reduce how much disk space it takes up.
