Solo / Two man rotrl campain?

Rise of the Runelords

Hey y'all, gonna start a rotrl campaign either with a friend or by my self (obviously also a dm). What kind of stuff will a one or two man campaign have troubles with?

I know that them wizards are pretty dang good for this campaign but I'd imagine it'd be quite difficult to do early levels as a wizard and to survive. Clerics or Oracles seem pretty good for surviving a low man power'd campaign, but not I ain't to much of a fan of the divine spell list.

Any reccomendations for try'an to solo rotrl? Or trying two man party?

Hey! Don't worry, I am indeed playing a one on one "rise of the runelords" campaign and I have to say it is a lot of fun. I am the DM and my only player is a Fighter Human (we have gamed with more people but we decided to play this AP on our own).

Wizards are indeed difficult to manage survival at low levels, and if your player is looking to use his same character the whole adventure path (which I guess he wants) throw in some NPCs to complete his "party" this will solve your entire problem. Keep in mind that you have to always focus the attention to the given player since you don't want the player to feel the NPCs are the heroes not him. Let him be a Wizard, but as soon as you see him struggle be prepared with an NPC Cleric or Fighter to help him pull of.

Thanks for the help

Wortied 'bout fighter being too weak later on, ain't he?

Twa's think'in that an oracle could be a hoot

An oracle is real OP, as long as you level the NPCs with the player no NPC will be considered weak at any point. BTW glad to see I'm not the only one paying this AP one on one :P

Thanks my man!

Hope ya'll have a great time!

No prob! You may want to use for fun the Pathfinder Iconics as his party, but if you feel creative make up your own character NPCs! Happy Gaming!

Not solo, but for two person*:

Half-elf cavalier (courtly knight) 4/hunter (courtly hunter) 14; Envoy (through the Elven Spirit feat) and Wary alternate racial traits; Elven Spirit, Skill Focus (Knowledge (Nobility)), Eldritch Heritage (Arcane bloodline for the familiar), Boon Companion (on the courtly companion), Horse Master (on the mount), Leadership (bard or skald cohort)

Half-elf summoner (fey caller or wild caller) 18 (VMC druid); Skill Focus (Knowledge (Nature)), Spell Focus (Conjuration), Augmented Summoning, Eldritch Heritage (Arcane bloodline for the familiar), Leadership (cleric, oracle, or warpriest)

*- although the party ends up at 10 total creatures with the mount, eidolon, two animal companions, two familiars, and two cohorts in addition to the two PCs.
