Playing a weapon and an item in the same encounter

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

I just got the game so this may be a dumb question. But, if I were to use, in the same encounter, corrosive dagger +1 (for your combat check, use range skill plus 1d4+1) and acid flask (use your range skill +2d6) and my range skill is d10+2, how many dice would I roll? Do I get to roll the range skill twice, plus the 1d4 and 2d6, or just the d10+2, 1d4+1 and 2d6? I couldn't find this in the rule book so thanks for the help.

You can only use one card or power which defines the skill you are using, so you cannot play both of those on the same check. Such powers are formatted similarly to "For your X check, play this card to use your Y skill."

Some cards allow you to use a particular skill for a specific type of check, or to use one skill instead of another. (These cards generally say things like “For your combat check, use your Strength or Melee skill,” or “Use your Strength skill instead of your Diplomacy skill.”) You may play only 1 such card or use only 1 such power to determine which skill you’re using.
