Cool ideas for magical hand grenades

At the moment I am brainstorming ideas for modern style hand grenades which generate magical effects on going off. They basically function like fuse grenades, except that they will go off after exactly 1 round. I already have some writeups for mundane style grenades (covering most real life hand grenade types), so I am only looking for magical grenades specifically.

I am trawling through spell lists looking for ideas, but I was wondering if anyone here had any cool ideas?

Ideas should be acceptably balanced for about 2000gp a grenade at most. This means that something like a Cloudkill grenade (which I am pricing at a little above 2000gp) is pushing the absolute limits of both power and price. Preferably, they should be much cheaper (in the 50-250gp range).

For a point of reference, I consider the grenades from the technology guide to be overpriced by about an order of magnitude, and on the weak side even for that.
