My attempt at race making based on the Aesir.

Homebrew and House Rules

So the DM for a up coming dungeon crawl allowed us to create our own races for the game. He allowed us to make a 20 RP race using the race builder guide in the advanced race guide. I eventually came up with this the Aesir, it's not meant to be 100% accurate lore wise to what is known in actually Norse mythology, and im no expert on it, and yes I based my interpretation on a lot of pop culture stuff like comics and video games that ive played over the years (Valkyrie Profile, Marvel Comics, other video games) and we are limited to what is in the book but im posting it here anyway for you guys to give your opinions on.

Aesir

Divine Craftsman's: Though some are better at it than others, all Aesir are taught to work the forge from a early age, some stick with it and make it their primary profession while others tend to focus on wielding the weapons that are made by their kinsmen. All Aesir receive a +2 racial bonus to all craft and profession related checks to make wood or metal based objects.

Celestial Resistance: Aesir divine nature grants them some resistance to elemental attacks. Aesir receive acid cold and electricity resistance 5.

Aesir Spell-Like Abilities: 1/day Overland Flight, Minor Creation, Disguise Self

Aesir Hated Foe: Elves, and Giants. Aesir have a long history of war against the Elves and the Giants, in this time they've developed techniques to help gain the advantage when facing them in combat. Aesir receive a +1 racial bonus to attack against creatures of the elf and giant subtype.

Divine Sight: Aesir have Darkvision 60ft, as well as Low Light Vision which allows them to see twice as far as humans in dim light.

Languages: Aesir begin play speaking Common and Celestial, a Aesir with a high intelligence can peak additional languages from the following list. Elven, Dwarven, Giant, Ignan, Terran, Aquan, Auran.

Aesir: One of the two tribes of good aligned outsiders that make up the norse pantheon. These deific people were the warriors of their particular pantheon, while the Vanir were the gods of earthly matters, like fertility, and crops. The two tribes would eventually become one after a long war. The Aesir rule over a particular part of heaven known as Asgard home of the gods which in fact exist in between both heaven and the material plane but can only be reached from the material plane via the Rainbow Bridge.

Asgard is not to be confused with Valhalla the resting place for the honored dead, warriors who fell in battle are taken to said place to celebrate for all eternity and fight along side the Aesir in any future wars, Valhalla is overseen by the Vanir and exist wholly in Heaven.

The Aesir have their enemies which lend themselves as an outlet for their naturally aggressive tendencies. These unfortunate adversaries are the Dark Elves (Drow) though in truth they distrust all Elves and for a time warred with all the various tribes of Elves found throughout the planes, even purging the tribes that used to call Elysium their home. Their second hated foes are the Fire and Ice Giants of Muspelheim and Jötunheimr.

Aesir Physiology: The Aesir are partially made up of both the Material Plane as well as Heaven itself, thus they are both true and native outsiders. They eat, sleep, and breathe like native outsiders, but they age very slowly, and they never weaken with age. They also do not have any set lifespan, only succumbing to death by way of death in battle or some tragic accident.

I think they make naturally good paladins, especially if you use the Path of War "Knight Disciple" archetype.. I'm working on building one as such and naming it Hrist Valkyrie for the campaign.
