Bladebound Magus (GM thread, contains spoilers)

Strange Aeons

I've never had a player with this archetype before, and I'm looking for advice on how to integrate the blade into SA's story. My (admittedly silly) first thought was that the blade contains the soul of Ambrose Bierce, whose mysterious disappearance was caused by him making contact with Hastur.

My problem is that I don't want the blade to be too much of a help, or too suspicious for the already paranoid amnestic to trust. I haven't run much eith Intelligent items before, and this one is so central to the character that I want to be sure it is believable. Any advice?

Thing is.. it sounds like you're running a horror campaign so a bit of paranoia means that you're getting things right.

A good key is ambiguity, if you can keep your player guessing about what side his blade is actually on, you should be spot on.

I plan on making my blade an agent of one of the old ones that will be showing up later. (Don't wanna give spoilers) I plan on making sure he spends the entire AP guessing what side the blade is on or isn't on. Ultimately I Think he won't trust it but I'm not too sure.
