Hello, I have not had a lot of experience buying boosters of minis. Mostly because I only want a few out of each set. With Rusty Dragon Inn though, I loved all except a few. I am giving thought to buying a case.
My question then becomes, what are my odds of getting all the minis from a set by buying a case?

100% in 8 out of 10 cases (with Pathfinder Battles)!
0% with Dungeons & Dragons: Icons of the Realms sets.
That is what happened to me actually.

I've bought a case each of eight of the sets and have never been missing a mini. They only don't guarantee a full set due to the possibility of human collation error. (This has happened. Someone got a set with duplicate bricks in it a few sets ago and missed out on two or three of the rare minis.) But it's very unusual for there not to be a complete set in a case.

Yeah, I think Marco meant he'd ordered 8 out of the 10 sets, not that he ordered the other two but didn't get a full set.
I've ordered two or three cases of most of the sets (although only one of the later sets) and have missed one rare once, from memory. I'd put it very close to 100% (and when you miss a single mini, it's generally not hard to fill out the set).

I've gotten a case of every set of Pathfinder Battles, and the only one I didn't get a complete set of was Rise of the Runelords - there was one booster with a missing mini, and I didn't get the mini for Azaven.
I had one booster with a missing mini in my Rusty Dragon Inn case, but I ended up with a full set anyway.
I'd go for the case - you've got a very solid shot. ^_^
