Are pregens required for the quest scenarios like phantom phenomena and silverhex chronicles?

For 'the Silverhex Chronicles' and 'Phantom Phenomena', the introduction states that 1st-level PFS pregens off paizo.com must be used.

For 'Fane of Fangs', specific pregens are provided that must be used.

For 'Ambush in Absalom' and 'the Urge to Evolve', players can use their own PCs if they are of the right level.
