(Sung to the tune of 'Johnny B Good')
Far Far from Louisiana and warm New Orleans,
Way up north among the cold and screams,
In a small apartment for dogs and men,
Where lived a Monkey boy named Patrick Curtin,
He studied Law to find a job that Lasts,
Now he has to pack up and move REALLY fast!
GO!
Go Monkey Go!
GO!
Go monkey Go!
GO!
Go Monkey Go!
Monkey B Goode!
:D

John and I were talking about places we might live when we are finally fed up with the cost of living in NY (which may come sooner rather than later) and Maryland/DC was brought up as a possibility. Mostly because my boss keeps saying he wants to put a financial advisory rep in our company's Bethesda office. But housing isn't that much cheaper there than it is here. Maybe a little. We shall see.
From what I understand, the cost of housing in the DC area has dramatically increased over the last 8-10 years, along with traffic, crime, etc......

It is almost like Fate is intervening on your behalf...which I always take as a very bad sign.
Watch your back, Monkey! Some gremlins or such may be up to something!

Thanks guys.
The sadness isn't as sharp as some I've experienced. I have grieved for her loss since 2015 after all. Still, it sorrows me that she passed. I had always held out some slim hope that my ex would get tired of her and give her back.
In a way, it does give me closure. I know she's gone, and I no longer have to worry about her. That is cold comfort, but it's the best I can do.

Merkels conservative "christian democratic union" will most likely vote half and half and their partner the Bavaria-only "christian social union" will vote against it

And, I found out why I fell through the cracks. My employer sent me last year, in a plain envelope, a letter telling me that the providers were changing. For something this important, you'd think that they'd make the envelope stand out more. But no. *sigh* Not for the first time, I feel like I'm dealing with a bunch of oblivious "droids." Well, I now have a place to start from.

Well, at least with them deducting from your pay, you SHOULD be covered. You just need to get the right info.
Hoping that isn't too hard for you.

For some reason, I got onto the 1970 Altamont concert featuring the Stones. You know, the one where they hired the Hell's Angels do to concert security, and the Angels stabbed and stomped a poor kid to death?
Rolling Stone magazine did an article right away, before much of anything was known, so it was a lot of color and quotes from musicians and bystanders. Holy crap, I forgot how the "in-crowd" talked during that time. Groovy, bad vibes, cat, old man, old lady, bummed, bad trip, etc. The article reads as rather ridiculous now, despite the grim contents.
It reminds me of Nine Princes in Amber, which also contains some super-dated prose.
Groovy, man.

I heard about that growing up. I learned to never hire legbreakers for security.
