We had three players so we had one of each henchman. But we had decided that for 4, an extra Abyssal Army. At 5, an Rasper Dragon Riders. And 6, an extra Stringy Fiends.
So essentially the list would end up being:
Ophidian Demon
Abyssal Army
Rasper Dragon Riders
Stringy Fiends
Abyssal Army
Rasper Dragon Riders
Stringy Fiends

Just follow the rules: "...add henchmen, working from the top of the list down, until your stack has as many cards as you have locations. Use multiple copies of the henchman at the bottom of the list as needed."
So for large groups, your list should be:
Abyssal Army (1)
Ophidian Demon (1)
Rasper Dragon Riders (1)
Stringy Fiends (As Many as Needed)
Nothing in the rules requires you to know or care about whether the box contains multiple copies of the henchmen other than the one on the bottom of the list.
Now I agree all but the last one should be singular to avoid confusion.
Nothing in the rules says that the presence of a plural name means you use multiple copies of that card. It may be a little unfortunate here that the name of the card is "Rasper Dragon Riders," but it would be even more unfortunate if the name of a card with the Army trait *didn't* suggest a group.
