Shattered Star Adventure Path Question

Hello,

Kind of a new GM here, only done 9 tables thus far. I ran a few at Society session and play a sanctioned adventure for my home group.

So I am thinking about running this adventure path next but I am a little confused about applying credit. It says,

"Playing each distinct portion of Adventure Path sanctioned content from beginning to end earns a character 3 XP and 4 Prestige Points if that character is on the medium advancement track, or 1-1/2 XP and 2 Prestige Points for characters on the slow advancement track. There are no Day Job checks when playing a sanctioned Adventure Path."

Now does that mean they would only get 3 xp and 4 prestige if the complete B1-D15 of Shards of Sin? If they started out as third level they would only be 4th at the end and not legal for the next part, Curse of the Lady's Light.

Am I interpreting that correct or am I way off?

I am currently running Emerald Spire and it seems pretty straight forward, finish the level and get 3 xp which is enough to make your character legal for the next level.

That is right you may need to run other stuff to get to the right level.

You can make day job roll if you run it PFS characters but not if you run it in campaign mode.

That is correct IF you are using existing PFS characters and playing those specific portions of the Adventure Path. However if you are running this as an entire Adventure Path your players will need to create new characters specifically for the AP. You can use whatever rules you want and as they finish each sanctioned portion they apply the chronicle to a PFS character (not the non-PFS character playing the AP).

Pay close attention to the first page of the document, you will need to slow-track some of the levels to stay within the legal range. Also there is the possibility of getting less than 3 XP on one level (as detailed on the chronicle sheet).

Thanks for the responses.

Guess I figured that right. I was planning on running it with legal PFS characters and just doing the sanctioned sections. Just need to create the PFS hook for each part(i.e. meeting with Venture Captain Sheila Heidmarch to send them on their way).

At least I think that is all I need to do.

Kevin, thanks, my party is actually just getting to the fourth level now. Be interesting to see how they handle it. I did see the slow track levels.
