I was reading over the Synthesist and the Primal Companion Hunter, and it occurred to me that it would be really cool to have a PC with a malleable pool of evolution points they could use to boost themselves and allies/party members/pets. We could call it the Evolver, or something. Basically a new kind of buffing/boosting mage.
Thoughts?

I've homebrewed several different classes/archetypes that can grant themselves, their pets and/or their allies temporary eidolon evolutions to buff them. I think it's a very cool and fun way of providing buffs, since evolutions are so flexible. It's also obviously very powerful, so one has to be careful with how to calibrate the number of evolutions granted, evolutions per day, possibly evolutions "known", et cetera. Still, I think it would be a cool summoner archetype. Personally I think I would like it more, flavor-wise, as an alchemist archetype that can create some kind of "evolutionary serum" to inject people with, but that's just a personal quirk. I loves me some weird science in my fantasy. :)

Yes! I agree that, thematically, it would serve as a good alchemist archetype!

This, 100%. I love it, and may have to make it.
I can't really comment on the OP, as I'm not incredibly familiar with Summoners. I do, however, like the idea behind a buffmage, even without the Dr. Jekyll-esque Alchemist.
