Manuever Generalist Feat, is this a good idea?

Homebrew and House Rules

Was just trying to think of ways to encourage my players to use more combat maneuvers in my game and thought what about a feat that removes the attack of opportunity the enemy gets when making any combat maneuver?

It gives no bonuses to any combat maneuvers other than the target cannot make an attack of opportunity against you.

Something like:

Maneuver Generalist

You have had more advanced training with many types of combat maneuvers. While you are still far from a master with them you have learned to no longer leave openings your enemies can exploit when performing them.

Prerequisites: BAB +2, ???

Benefit: Choose 4 Combat Maneuvers. You no longer give attacks of opportunities when performing those maneuvers.

Special: This feat can be taken multiple times. Each time you choose another 4 combat maneuvers.

Too good? Not good enough? It is an initial thought. Perhaps it should not even be a feat.

Dirty Fighting is a feat from Paizo

This website has some really nice ideas for removing several feat taxes in Pathfinder. Look at Deft Maneuvers and Powerful Maneuvers.

Thanks for the website. Lots if interesting idea's. His powerful maneuvers and deft maneuvers are similar to what I was thinking but one step more with giving the bonus on the maneuvers as well.

I'll have to do some thinking.

Single feat, no AOO for all the maneuvers, and I still wouldn't take it. Single feat, no AoO, counts as Improved Whatever (but not the other prereqs) for later feats, and I might.

If you want characters to use more maneuvers create situations where those maneuvers help them in combat. Fight a person with super powerful cursed sword that buffs him when he holds it, giving high DR. A disarm would be awesome.

Have them fight a construct they can not kill/destroy. SO they have to grapple it and tie it up.

Make situations where not suing them is foolish.

Then once they learn how usefull they are they will start using them on their own.
