For reasons which don't bear going into, I needed to work up an 8 HD Agathion whose form is that of a Bear. Anyone want to take a look at it? I estimate it at CR7, but maybe CR 8 with all the fancy-dancy abilities. I see this guy as a big friendly lug. He's a protective type, and gets angry when his friends are threatened.

Ursinials stand 8-9 feet tall and weight around 500 pounds. They have the appearance of fierce Grizzly Bears who walk upright and move with unusual grace despite their bulk.
I like it, seems very simple but clear and effective. It is odd though, mixing barbarian and Paladin abilities as it will be challenging to use them while raging.
what is an 8 HD monster doing with a Holy weapon? (+3 equiv?)
As an agathion, any weapon he wields should automatically be treated as Good. That should be sufficient. It would be wiser to make it Furious or simply +2 to keep it level appropriate.
he has the equivalent of a +4 suit of armor?!?
Celestials have 2 good saves. You've given him 1?
Note that in 3.5 Ursinals were scholarly, bookish types and considered sages among the ursinals. The combat-happy berserker types were the equinals (horse guys).
Given that he's grapple focused, why doesn't he have Improved Grab as a special ability?
Why is his Concentration +10? What stat is being used? SLA's use Cha.
Note that since he has Rage he can use General Feats to take Extra Rage Powers...
Those are pretty poor SLA's for an 8 HD Celestial...I expected Mass Cure Light Wounds or Restoration or SOMETHING level-equivalent. Especially if it's only 1/day.

oh, and a size L humanoid has a default reach of 10 feet (see the Ogre).
I find it amusing that this agathion is barely stronger then an ogre, but at least he can rage.
