I'll be the first one to admit it was amusing to watch him for awhile, but that time is well past, 'MURICA! I reckon it's time we man up and do exactly this.

You mean bird up?

Eat Donald Trump's face off and regurgitate it for our young.

Squawk and lunge without actually biting? I think we need to do a bit more than that - and to many more people than just him. I almost think he's doing more good than harm. The GOP's been a pack of fascist criminals ever since Reagan, the only difference with Trump is that he's finally done away with the façade of plausible deniability that has allowed them to destroy with impunity the 20th Century and every one of us who owes everything we have, value, want, and are to its hard-earned lessons. We got a backlog of white-collar and war criminals going back farther back than I've even been alive now - FIAT JUSTICIA, DAMMIT!

Dang it, Brick, now it's going to look out of context when I point out that escalated quickly.

The problem with that theory on Trump is that while he's doing it and it's probably going to sink him sooner or later, he's also giving cover to all the other Republican candidates who're keeping up the facade - "We're not as crazy as him!". Meanwhile, they get to move a few steps more in the crazy direction, to positions that would have been seen as horrific before Trump jumped way past them.

Trump's against letting any more Muslims into the country at all? Well, not accepting Muslim refugees is no longer the outlier stance.

I think its about intimidating donald trump into stopping what he's doing.

Without offending the base voters who are lapping it up.

Not that there's any chance of Trump being intimidated, so it's probably more about establishing themselves as "Not that bad, relatively speaking."

I worship Tash, He who punches in throats. You all know someone who needs a punch to the throat right? Well, Tash agrees, and at the glorious hour of his return will punch *everyone* right in the throat! Some people say "But Tash! We can self govern, we can be civil, we can form rational agreements among ourselves!". Such heretics will be banished to dwell forever in a YouTube comment thread, where all blither in madness and none are punched in the throat. Meanwhile the faithful will live in a golden paradise where everyone gets punched in the throat upon Tash's return for our sins and punched thereafter every time we say or do something irredeemably stupid.

PRAISE TASH!

I will simply note for the record that had I bashed any liberal icon to anywhere near the extent that you guys are flaming Trump I would have moderators down on me for being "noninclusive" and other such assorted "bad" behavior. So, given that none of you will ever be seriously challenged in your Paizo created "safe place", flame on.

For the record, Trump would be neither my first choice nor my last one.

I think you're mistaken, we aren't bashing him because we're liberal. We're bashing him because he's Donald Trump, I would bash him just as much, if not more if he were a democrat.

Not to name names, but Trump has pushed the needle so far into noninclusive (we used to just say "exclusive," but whatever) that you can do no wrong by speaking about him in his own vocabulary. I mean that seriously; you literally (if you're reading this Kirth, I mean literally literally, not figuratively literally) can't say anything worse about him than what he has said about the US population.

When some "liberal icon" starts ranting about banning Muslims from the US, let me know and I'll start flaming them too.

Or anything remotely equivalent: Outlawing Christianity or putting all white men in camps or whatever.

Meanwhile, I'll keep bashing the people saying incredibly prejudiced, racist stuff.

Bill Maher isn't really an 'icon', or remotely as bad as Trump, but he has said some pretty bigoted things. Ditto Richard Dawkins.

Conservatives may be the experts on bigotry, but they don't have exclusive rights.

I've actually said something along these lines many times in the past. All rights and opinions are free to be expressed 'round these parts, as long as they're either centrist or left wing. I'm totally incredibly centrist, having sets of beliefs that do not fall with either party, because of their stupid bundled beliefs (if you're against abortion you also have to be against gay rights, apparently or if you're for a graduated tax system you need to also be pro gun control, etc), but the obvious favoritism is so glaring as to be nonsensical.

It's not really a moderator thing, per se...I mean, yeah, they do come down a lot harder on the right wing expressionism, but I think it's just because the overall culture of the people is left, and therefore the offense is much more prevalent and needed to be controlled when it's right wing expression. (There's a joke in there about left wingers being easy to offend, but I'm already pushing the envelope with this reply, so I'll leave it.)

It is weird, though. I have noticed the overwhelming majority of gamers I meet are not only left of center, but adamantly, expressively so... I wonder why that correlates.

Folks, we're fine with hosting political threads if they start out with some substance to actually discuss. Starting them out with a gif might seem like light-hearted fun, but you have to acknowledge that we welcome a variety of gamers of different backgrounds, and that it may not be appropriate to start a dialog this way.

For those concerned about moderator bias: our intent is simply to remove posts that break our Community Guidelines (which are a fair bit more detailed than the old "Don't be a jerk" FAQ), or that we feel do not have a place on our website. If folks are interpreting this as "favoritism" or "moderator bias", that's unfortunate, and something we'd like to avoid as much as is possible while maintaining and supporting our community. I'd like to point out that no one person outside of this office actually sees the breadth or content of all posts we have to remove, so it's somewhat unfair to assume that we only remove "certain" posts. We'd also appreciate this sort of feedback in our formalized channels (Website Feedback or the community@paizo.com inbox, for example), rather than the occasional random thread that incites someone to speak up.

As it is we're going back and forth about hosting political threads and our policies towards them. In the best interest of not having this thread heat up over the weekend, I'll be locking it.
