Summoner Change?

Quick question I haven't been able to find an answer to via research. I have a PFS character who was built as a summoner. I built the character long before the Unchained book was released. I do not own a copy of Unchained, nor do I intend to purchase one. However, I understand that the Unchained Summoner is now the only version legal for PFS. Not owning a copy of the book, I am not permitted to use material from it, meaning I don't seem to be able to play my Summoner any more. Is this the case, or am I missing something? If this is the case, am I able to in some way change the character to something playable? Do I need to use retraining rules from Ultimate Campaign to rebuild or something?

As far as I can tell, the PFS guide only covers what happens if something changes for Feats, or ability scores, not what happens if an entire class becomes unavailable.

It was in a Blog post.

You may notice that we did not say the unchained summoner would be available alongside its Advanced Player's Guide counterpart. Effective immediately, the Advanced Player's Guide summoner is no longer available in the organized play campaign, and the unchained summoner is its legal replacement. However, we recognize that someone who already has a summoner (and the book to play it) should not be punished for this change. Therefore, if you have a character with levels in the summoner class, and you have played the character at least once at level 2 or higher, you get to keep your summoner as is; you may also continue to gain levels in the summoner class. Any character gaining a level in summoner for the first time must use the unchained summoner, and anyone character still within the 1st-level window of free rebuilding must also use the unchained summoner.

So if your summoner currently has at least 4 experience then they are legal to play, as they were grandfathered in.

If your summoner has less than 4 exp, they cannot be played until they are rebuilt using the unchained rules.

Note, if they have less than 4 XP, they can be completely rebuilt for free.

Thanks for the info gents - wish that was in the Guide, rather than a blog post. After all, the Guide was where I read about the change.

Sadly, I didn't get the 4th XP until May...looks like I need to rebuild.
