To wait or to play?

I've now skipped a game day because Blackros Connection (?) was the only offering I hadn't played, and coming up is a day where the only one I haven't played is Trouble in Tamran (?). I've not yet played the 6-98 special, but intend to when I can find it offered. In the meantime, is it worth missing game days to play these missions (which recommend bringing your 6-98 chronicle with you) to play them after 6-98? Or am I missing game days over no real big deal?

You'll possibly miss out on a unique boon. That's about it.

If the choice is gaming or no gaming, I'd go with gaming even if it means playing something out of order.

Also, even if you played 6-98, you're not guaranteed to gain a special boon out of those scenarios.

Reason:

There's a scenario for each character from 6-98 featuring the actions of their direct allies. You only have the option of gaining the special boon if, in 6-98, you played the character featured in the particular scenario you're playing.

I'm just glad that they wrote at least one scenario description *vague enough* that if you didn't play the character in question, you'd have no clue what they're talking about, but if you played the character you'd know EXACTLY what they're talking about.

The unique boon connection is both incredibly random, incredibly specific, and not very good anyway. Its not worth missing a candy bar over, much less a game

There was a recent clarification in the GM forum that your 6-98 character sheet can be on any of your characters, not just the one who is playing through a given scenario.

You're not likely to have more than two such chronicles, however. And you don't get every boon on that chronicle either.

I'm not a fan of this setup. While in hindsight it might turn out not to matter much, that's of little use to the people who haven't played those scenarios yet. I found myself left with doubt as to whether to postpone, and irritation that so many adventures reference something only allowed for running by high-star GMs.

If something is or is presented as a semi-prerequisite, it should not also be strongly restricted as to who can run it.

By the time someone sees the chronicle sheet to know about it they should know they're not missing out on much.
