Maps for submitted scenarios

Hi guys,
Maybe I'm having a "thicker than usual" moment or maybe the posts that clarify the issues are too old, but:

- do the maps that we submit in the scenarios for the Open Call have to be either existing flip mats or existing gamemastery maps? Failing to use either one would result in an automatic rejection, am I correct?

If so, do I need to purchase the map that I want to use for the scenario, or can I use the sample thumbnail-sized image that is given in the map page?

Using the thumbnails works very nicely. I have also had submissions just reference which map they're using, but being able to see it directly is a welcome addition.
