I've recently bought Race for the Rune Carved Key, to addapt it for my Rise of Runelords/Shattered Star non-PFS campaign. It's nice.
However, unless I'm missing once and again something, I still don't know what is the Rune Carved key for. Is it used in some other different PFS scenario? What can you use it for? Or is it just a McGuffin, without real value, other than the historical one?

Once accumulated, the parts are combined, and the results revealed in: The Sky Key Solution
I haven't had a chance to play them all, but it is a pretty good execution of a metaplot in the PFS space, which presents challenges.

Galnorag, that's the Sky Key.
The Rune-Carved Key was a Lissalan artifact used to open the way to a secret vault of the faith. Race for the Rune-Carved Key was a two-part special, the second of which was only run one time. The descriptive text, minus the stat blocks, can be found here. The full adventure is not planned on being released to the public for the foreseeable future due to the exclusive nature of the scenario.

It was used in Race part II to open a gateway to a demiplane with an intact Thassilonian temple housing some - far less intact - sleeping elite of Xin-Haruka slumbering away the years, waiting for the re-establishment of the ancient kingdom.
It was never meant for proper release and was con-only.
Edit: Oh, forgot about this: DEATH BY BOXTEXT!

Thanks!
Well, the stuff about sky citadels doesn't work that well in my campaigns, but hey, nothing can stop me to change it for something else :P
EDIT: oh, I see. I was answering to the sky citadel comment, before I read the rest of stuff. It's ok, the key used to open some stuff for the return of Krune, then. Thanks

Durrrr right, my brain is a little fogged today, but I guess using the same McGuffin two seasons in a row presents some confusion, so I'm only going to take 75% blame on this one :)
