Adowyn's scouting will help quite a bit in 3p, plus she has Divine - which takes a bit of the support pressure off Shardra.
Shardra isn't weak (d10+3 is actually pretty quality Divine, plus she has Fortitude and Knowledge) as long as you can keep her deck cycling and herself protected from Stuff Happens. To do this:
1. Dibs on a magic shield. Shardra has light armour, so she can reveal this to soak both "before" and "after" damage on those stupid Arboreal Blights.
2. Have discard/Knowledge-to-recharge books as your item set. These maximise your chance of trying Knowledge checks (at least before you get your role,) which will give you even more much-needed scouting.
3. A willingness to hit Shardra with a Cure just to give her a deck-shuffle (otherwise, she might go a long time without her spells and items.)
4. Vultures. Damage will happen; Vultures mitigate it even when you can't, by giving a card to a random friend instead of discarding / burying it. This can be the Vulture itself (consider this if more than one character is taking damage; the bird can take a hit for two and maybe even all three.) Just don't try it against Carnivorous Stump.
