How does Free RPG day work in PbP format?

I would like to participate in it, but there are no areas nearby that do tabletop gaming, much less Pathfinder Society.

Since the boon on the We Be Goblins Free Chronicle (and I am sure others as well) requires you to play the module during the Free RPG Day event, and my only avenue is on PbP, I am just going to risk sounding like a newb and ask.

I also would like to know because I wouldn't mind running a PbP scenario or two under the Free RPG day banner as well.

This one has something if you play it on Free RPG Day, although it is also possible to get it other ways if you play it later, so no biggie. But I think Free RPG Day is an in-person thing, not an online thing - only stores who buy the package can run it for the first while.
