Slave Pits of Absalom

Hello all,

Running the Slave Pits atm

Spoiler:
and the party is attacking the No Return.

The gnoll foreman Snarl Sorehackle is scripted to trip PC's into the water, using his whip. But how is he supposed to do that?

Falling prone from trip is usually prone on your own square, in this case, to be the boarding plank.

Try reposition

That requires grabbing the target via grapple.

It's written he tries to trip them from a distance with the whip.
Is the aim to ignore the current whip rules and declare he is capable of doing so?

Perhaps he's trying to trip people climbing the boat still? Being tripped while climbing= falls isn't spelled out in the rules afaik but its a reasonable interpretation.

Just run with it. Make up an interpretation that you deem balanced and use that. Make sure not to turn it too lethal.

If you are referring to the Reposition Combat Maneuver from the APG, that is its own kind of maneuver that requires a standard action, and can use modifiers from a weapon. It doesn't involve grapple at all.

Also note that, as the whip is a weapon with the Trip keyword, it can also be used to do reposition and drag with its weapon modifiers.

Can we take the spoiler out of the title, please?

That bit of the reposition & whip i wasn't aware of, thanks.

Fox, with a thread made sunday, that's impossible. :)
