Some android-related questions

I have some android-related questions ...

Having read the "Ecology of the Android" article in Iron Gods 1, I was left wondering about one aspect of the Renewal process. From both Kariand's letter (at the start of the article) and the rather vague text about the Renewal process, it looks as though the android's new body could be of either sex. Is this true? And does anything govern the choice of the new body's sex (other than the new soul which inhabits the body during the Renewal)?

It is stated on page 71 of Iron Gods 1 (top of the first column) that a creature cannot use the Reincarnate spell to gain an android body. What if such a spell was cast close to where an android body was going through Renewal? Could such a character theoretically be reincarnated into the "empty" android body?

You might want to Ask James Jacobs... these seem like his kind of questions.

I would assume that it could be either sex, and that it's random (or complex enough to seem random).

With the GM's assistance, anything is possible. I think that sounds like a really cool concept. :)

As a general rule, an android's body remains relatively unchanged when it renews. Minor adjustments to appearance occur during the process, so that a renewed android would look similar to how a child resembles a parent, but doesn't exactly look alike. Ability scores change entirely since it is, in effect, a brand new character. The android's apparent sex can indeed change during the renewal process.

Reincarnate specifically creates a new body for the soul to inhabit—it does NOT siphon a soul into an already existing empty body. And reincarnate can't create an android body. So, no. That won't work.

Wish could make you reincarnate as an android though.
