I'm an Assistant Principal at an elementary school. Currently we are in a contest to gather votes for a video we made. I'd like your support if you feel comfortable clicking on a link. All you have to do is click Vote Now, you don't have to watch the video. I appreciate your help!
I wonder what the rules of the contest would say about soliciting people to vote for the video while telling them they don't even need to watch it. Is this how you would want your students to behave? Or your teachers?
The rules encourage voting and not much else. The short answer is yes.
Of course if you want to watch the awesome video that my students and I made, go right on ahead. In fact my dad is also in the video! However, garnering votes is the entire point of the contest, not views. Elsewise it would have been a youtube type submission.
