Stag Lord Amulets

Just an odd thought I had, but what if the amulets carried by the Stag Lord's various lieutenants resembled a nymph rather than his helm? It would leave players wondering what the meaning was, and could therefore get them curious enough to actually learn about Nyrissa and her effect on the Stag Lord, especially since the dead unicorn will rarely ever yield such information. (Of course, I also feel it would help for the Stag Lord to have kept a journal that can crudely allude to a lot of this as well.)

We initially used a silver pin of a stag's head & neck profile that kind of ended with a brush-like end for the Stag Lord's pins, its about 3" long (my wife's clan Fraser jewelry makes frequent appearances as props in our game).

You could do something like that, but when flipped over or upside down it looks like a nymph.

They new ones we give out now to the sheriff in each hex are more like a circular broach with the stag's head on the side and the body loops around as knotwork back to the antlers. With a center bar/pin with the name of the shire (kinda like a big badge), they also function like wayfinders do.
I'm trying to convince the GM to let me use them for message spells too, but that's not working. I also would like to scry on them too, but can't get the Fellnight Queen's Mirror to work yet either, (yes I know why it doesn't).

The range of message caps out at 300', so what would be the purpose of adding that ability? (Curious why it was rejected.)

yep, making it look like a ninph could really work, but then how do you make it clear that it's a ninph and not simply an exotic beauty? i mean, OG you could just say' your PC know enough of the lore of the world to recognize a nimph..describing it IG could be a different and tougher feat of GMing tough..

the idea of staggy's diary doesn't seem to fit quite well in my opinion..I don't think he's illiterate or something, but it could be too much of a spoiler.

In our game, we can use message for a few non-standard things,
for example Tree Feather Tokens from a dryad's tree can transmit a message spell to the dryad irregardless of the distance.

We can also cast it on Silver Ravens and they will deliver the message.

I think the GM didn't want all those Stag Lord Pins to be a comm network for the Kingdom.

My original request was to have them all linked to the Stag Lord Helm, or the Queen's Rod (a stag headed rod similiar to a headband of alluring charisma), or a chain of office, where you could cast 1 message per day + Cha mod to the wearer of a pin. The wearer could send the same to the whomever had the helm or rod or chain, all irregardless of distance.

They've become pretty much standard issue to major npc's, plus all the PC's have them, so there are over 100 out there. It could get abused, be too effective. Once per day for each might be simpler/better, you could try that.

The Magister also scries on the wearers sometimes.
