Animal Companions near Magnimar

So, I have a player in my campaign that chose to take a level in druid. He wants to get an animal companion as soon as he can complete the 24-hour ritual. My question is, what terrain is around Magnimar so I can let him know what animals he could possibly get as a companion?

To the south lies the swampy region of the Mushfens, filled with caimans and other such creatures. To the east it's mostly lightly wooded hills and the like.

Using just the Core Rulebook, that would look something like: Badger, Bird, Boar, Cat (small), Crocodile, Dog, Horse, Pony, Snake (viper), Wolf.

Additional PF animals I would add include: Aurochs, Beetle (giant), Elk, Frog (giant), Rat (dire), Weasel (giant).

And that's assuming he wants a land-based animal, since most of the aquatic ones would also be available. If he's willing to wait longer than 24 hours, he might be able to call something like a megaloceros or similar which could be found in Varisia but not all that close to Magnimar.

Waiting longer than 24 hours is a good idea as I suspect he will want something more exotic. His first choice was a velociraptor but I think they need a warmer climate. He can choose from any animal in the PRD, BTW.

It might take some money or an owed favor, but the Heidmarchs curate the Lord Mayor's Menagerie in the Capital District. There might be something exotic there that your druid could bargain for.

There are ABSOLUTELY velociraptors in that menagerie.
