Champion of the Wild (Ranger)

While all rangers are attuned to nature, not all seek intimate contact with the divine. Some find that intense weapon training lets them defend their natural domains more effectively.

Bonus Feat: At the 4th level, and again at 7th, 10th, and 13th level, the champion of the wild gains a bonus feat in addition to those gained from normal advancement. These bonus feats must be selected from those listed as combat feats. He must meet the prerequisites of these bonus feats. Champions of the wild do not gain any spells or spellcasting ability, do not have a caster level, and cannot use spell trigger and spell completion magic items.

This was my favorite 3.5 variant, but since ranger spells becomes more powerfull in pathfinder, plus the fact that he loses the ability to use spell trigger and spell completion magic items, I was thinking about add Fighter Training and treat his ranger levels as 1/2 fighter level.

Do you think that would be unbalanced or its ok?
