Radiance as a gun?

Wrath of the Righteous

One if my players is a Paladin, and had picked up Radiance. I read the sword's stats as it become mythic ally bonded to him now. Unfortunately, he's also got a class of gunslinger and his weapon is v much the gun. I was thinking that maybe after their next mythic trial, Radiance becomes a gun for him, but not entirely certain how the stats for that would work. Are guns treated exactly the same way as weapons for the purpose of magical enhancements/abilities? Any advice would be appreciated, as the a Paladin is feeling a bit torn between his inclination to follow a plot flange maguffin and the fact that he is much worse with a sword than one might expect from a Paladin.

Could be cool for your campaign but by the rules Radiance should change into his deity's favored weapon. Brigh's (sp?) favored weapon may be a gun but I'm not sure she supports paladin's.

But I think its better to have Radiance used than have it ignored. I think guns are treated the same as other weapons for magic. Would still need cold iron ammo though, it wouldn't pass that property on.

Awesome. Thanks! D'you think it would be too overpowered to have Radiance, as a gun, to transform ammo into cold iron bullets ONLY when it fires? (So it doesn't generate cold iron ammunition to sell?)

Yes, I think it would be overpowered to have GunRadiance transform ammo into cold iron bullets, as the paladin is already going to be getting a ranged holy avenger they can use against touch AC. The bonus on it is going to get high enough eventually that it will be overcoming cold iron DR anyways.

So d'you reckon I should let the fact that Radiance is cold iron slide if it were to transform into a musket? (Which is what he uses atm)

Or do people reckon that GunRadiance would be OP simply by being a gun?

This is Wrath of the Righteous...
It's not Radiance that you have to worry about being OP, it's the Mythic Rules :)
Just go with what seems cooler to both of you.

In any case, I think that JJ said that Abadar paladins who got a crossbow as favored weapon didn't get automatic cold iron ammunitions, so the same should be true for firearms.

Tulty! Get back to your group so you can play/record/upload more sessions of Wrath of the Righteous on RPGMP3. Your podcast has been VERY helpful in my own game. And thanks for podcasting it. I'm a huge fan.

Also, for more helpful info: the Paladin in my group just became mythic and he uses a bastard sword. I let the sword change to a bastard sword so he would use it. I'm sure letting it be a musket isn't OP. Like Krinn said it's Mythic rules you will have to worry about.

Haha, awesome Candide! Did not see that coming! Will take peeps advice and have Radiance transform into a Musket at the next narratively convenient point. (Spoiler alert for Candide).

Thanks guys!
