[Interjection Games] Announcing Class Expansions: Bloodrager Bloodlines

Product Discussion

So, I found this little paragraph in the bloodrager base class.

"If the bloodrager takes levels in another class that grants a bloodline, the bloodlines must be the same type, even if that means that the bloodline of one of the classes must change. Subject to GM discretion, the bloodrager can change his former bloodline to make them conform."

As a result, I'm cooking up bloodrager variants to all 12 sorcerer bloodlines I developed back in 2013, as well as the brand new entropic bloodline. Everything from psuedo paladin smiting and chaos tables to summon-spamming will be represented.

Bloodlines List

Artificial - construct flavor
Artist - phantasm and summon flavor
Clouds - water and air
Dust - air and earth
Entropic - chaos and possibility
Facets - color spray, the bloodline
Fatespun - manipulate luck, fate pool
Magma - fire and earth
Mud - earth and water
Radiant - the divine
Restless - figments and ghosts
Smoke - fire and air
Steam - fire and water

As an aside, I apparently have the throughput to devise about seven of these with a full day's worth of work, so who has a suggestion for bloodline #14?

How about the Ether bloodline? =P Heh. Considering you probably won't want to add it to Strange Magic...

What I'd love to see is your take on one of two things:
1) Onmyoji (spirit) bloodline or...
2) Antipodist (light/dark)

Perhaps an Oozing bloodline? If not, maybe a Mummified bloodline is in order?

Off the top of my head...Bestial/Lycanthropic, Crystalline, Kami, Metal/Steel, Plant, Rune-Scarred/Tattooed, Verminous, Void/Space, Yokai...

...and sigh, I'm definitely going to have to get this one.

It's not that I don't want to - I just wasn't paid to do it, but, then again, this is where blog content comes in. :P

Two votes for a "space/void/ether" bloodline. Can do! Those who dislike the idea, rally support by the end of the day or lose the slot to the ether.

Or get me really excited about other ideas and get me to feature bloat this booklet with more bloodlines. We all know it works on me.

Just saying...but we so far only have a low BAB (antipodist) and med BAB (Edgewalker). There needs to be something with a high BAB to fill it out. Unless you maybe are considering a full base class down the road...then I'll be patient.

Perhaps some bloodlines to truly espouse a "heavy metal" feel from the bloodrager? Madness bloodline, Deep Steel bloodline, Deadwaker bloodline, Vampiric bloodline, Thunderstorm bloodline, etc.

Or maybe eke out a niche for a more "horrific" bloodrager... the Terror bloodline, Swampthing bloodline, Full Moon bloodline, Nightmare bloodline, Mummy bloodline, and so forth.

Or you could ride on the coattails of Advanced Class Origins' black blood bloodline with the Tar bloodline, Bile bloodline, Cold Iron bloodline, Viridium bloodline, Gold bloodline, and what have you.

...Congratulations, you got me excited. Would you mind multiple releases of a dozen bloodlines each, or do you want one supplement?

@Aleron - Why yes, yes I do have a full BAB edge-class in mind.

A dozen bloodlines each would be fun. Allow for thematic grouping and such. :)

Alright, this is what we're going to do.

Product #1: 12 bloodlines to match the 12 sorcerer bloodlines I wrote

Product #2-?: Bloodrager sub-bloodlines for existing Paizo bloodlines. Because a bloodrager and a sorcerer have to match bloodlines, they currently have zero customization in this regard, which is bad and not Pathfinder. So, think of it as follows. The "mummy", "vampire", or "ghost" sub-bloodlines of the "undead" bloodline would be compatible with the "undead" bloodline taken by a sorcerer, thus giving you choice back.

Product #3-?: Each bloodrager sub-bloodlines product will be mirrored by a sorcerer product with the same sub-bloodlines, or I'll combine the two and offer sub-bloodlines for two or three existing bloodlines at a time. I'm not quite sure on that point yet and could use an opinion.

I think sorcerer sub-bloodlines as their own products would be a good idea. Expand everything in their own ways.

...drat, I just had the thought for doing this with focused arcane schools (and possibly a hybrid class of the wizard and something else that also has arcane schools).

Are these sub-bloodlines going to be like wildblooded for sorcerers, or are you pondering more complete alterations? Either way, it sounds pretty cool. Some that I think would be cool to see...

Spoiler:
Aberrant: Naga, Yithian
Abyssal: Invidiak/Shadow Demon, Marilith, Qlippoth, Titan
Celestial: Archon, Azata/Elysian
Destined: Cursed
Draconic: Devourer, Linnorm, Outer
Elemental: Metal, Void, Wood
Fey: Boogeyman, Gremlin, Shadow Fey, Summer Fey, Winter Fey
Infernal: Asura, Erinyes/Fallen/Fury, Gelugon/Ice Devil
Undead: Banshee, Ghost, Mummy, Nightshade, Pale Stranger, Sanguine/Vampiric, Shadow, Skeletal

Obviously, I don't expect all of those, but I think at least some of them would be neat.

As for same or different products, I'd probably be interested either way, I could see them being in the same product or on their own...might I suggest you decide when you figure out how many of them you intend to put out? If there's relatively few, in the same product might be better, if there winds up being a lot of sub-bloodlines, then each in their own might wind up being better? Just a thought.

Heck, I'm also considering a Kickstarter for a slim hardcover. I could cook up 100 subbloodlines fairly easily, the issue being I already have plans for two Kickstarters in the first quarter of 2015.

Another question, then. If I have another big class book for $20 + cost to print and a cool dice game for $20 (shipping included), would those two tap out your money in its entirety?

Not him, but I've been giving some feedback on them and can say they are complete alterations with all new powers. Not just ones subbed out like wildblooded.

I'd be interested in that in any case, though I'd beg you if possible to wait till the new year for it. :)

No worries about that, Alex. I'm utterly swamped as it is and need to see all of the Strange Magic ducks in a fairly good row before I go out and fire up a second Kickstarter.

Mid to late January. Brewer/Baker/Remedy in February or March, Triplets in the month Brewer/Baker/Remedy is not.

Fulfilling all of that sounds like a good way to while away the spring.

Alright, so I spent 2 days staring at Restless and decided that that bloodline really had no good half-caster analogue. This product now has 12 bloodlines, not 13.
