The Exchange

Looking for my next set of PFS scenarios to run as GM.

I’m just completing the Among the X series of 3. I will have run each at least a couple of times to make sure that everyone that wants to will have had a chance.

* I much prefer the mini-archs of a few related scenarios.
* I’m leaning towards fairly old ones. Many of our newer players have not seen them since they haven’t been offered in several years.
* Not too complex with lots of fiddly rules. I admit I am not the most experienced of GM’s and a few have seemed rather daunting.
* An interesting or at least memorable scenario and/or chronicle sheet reward would make it more enjoyable for me to provide. (The ‘Among’ series wasn’t that great, but several people were asking for it for some reason.)

Any suggestions?

I would recommend Quest for Perfection, but Part 3 is quite fiddly. City of Strangers has some great moments and I think you might enjoy it. Lots of roleplay and a bit complicated, though. I've heard good things about The Devil We Know, but haven't done much with it myself.

The Devil We Know made me feel pretty dissatisfied with one Hestia Themis. Three times we told her that "Be careful, <next plot point> is going to be an issue", and three times the next VC briefing started with "When I sent the last Pathfinder team, they neglected to mention <current plot point>."

I'd go Blakros.

0-06 Mists of Mwangi
1-47 Voice in the Void
2-11 Penumbral Accords
3-07 Echoes of the Overwatched
4-07 Blakros Matrimony
5-14 Day of the Demon
5-03 Hellknight's Feast (do 5-14 first)

(I've heard that 6-02 Silver Mount Collection would follow but I'm not familiar with it myself.)

The Exchange

Sorry, I forgot to mention. The Blakros set has been run into the ground at our local. It is good and a lot of people liked it. But I think everybody (or nearly) has already been through it.

Lantern Lodge 5/5

Fair enough.

If you're looking at lower-levelled tables, your hands are kind of tied.

Quest for Perfection is awesome, albeit deadly in a couple of spots.

Before the Dawn is worth it for the awesome Part 1. Part 2 is kinda draggy, though.

Quest for perfection as mentioned above would be good.
Also, shades of ice would be a good one as well

3/5

I'll just throw in another Quest for Perfection shout-out; it's a terrific mini-arc.

The Exchange

Well, since it is getting so many votes, I will ask our local organizer if the Quest for Perfection Arc would be desirable.

Thanks folks.

I know what you mean. Based on what I've seen from Hestia Themis, Sheila Heidmarch, and Alissa Moldreserva, I'm starting to think that Melvin Udall is ghost-writing female Venture-Captains.

As for scenarios, I would recommend the Glories of the Past series, as it leads very well into season 5 and visits very interesting locations. Humorously enough, it contains:

Glories of the Past series:
a letter telling you your mission from Sheila Heidmarch without much about the dangers you will face. Canayven does a far better job at explaining what you are to do in the later installments.

Take away reason and accountability indeed.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Personally, I really, really dislike part 1 of Glories of the Past. I find it horribly boring and pointless, with a poorly designed puzzle. The other 2 parts are good.

Part 1 is not that great, but I still think it should be played because of keeping the storyline intact and something else.

The Exchange 3/5

Shades of ice series is great, three parter from season 2 and if you lead into the series with the Frozen Fingers of Midnight from season 0 you'll have people convinced it is a 4 parter.

Frozen Fingers is a great intro into the northern wastelands and frozen tundras and then Shades of ice does a great job fleshing out the three northern lands; Lands of the Linnorm Kings, Realm of the Mammoth Lords and Irresen.

Some of my favorite scenarios. All four of those are 1-5's.
