Download was straightforward. Only about two and a half gigs. Game installed simply - click on .pkg, approve install, Pathfinder installed into Applications folder, nice icon by the way.

Game started up, windowed mode, logged in uneventfully. Looked beautiful. Essentially a flawless transition from the last time i logged in from my bootcamped version to what opened for me on the mac side. Don't know how much is from improvement with alpha 13, but feat icons were much clearer and looked better. The graphics as a whole looked better at Fast level then on the PC side. Changed to Fantastic, and thought PC side better at that level. Able to resize window multiple times, no freezes or crashes. The ?bloom? effect on armour that has plagued the last couple of PC versions was not present - I could see each individual scale on my scale armour. Had one crash during 2 hours of play last night. Grouped up with 4-5 others this afternoon and said the following about it in another thread:

"I was testing the Mac client. No issues with partying up. Crashed once while running to event. Crashed twice during the one and a half hours play. No real pattern. Never happened in combat, and didn't seem related to hex border crossing. No desync symptoms, just complete freeze. Able to Command-Option-Esc to Force Quit PFO, relaunch, back in with little down time. No durability loss, or death. Quite acceptable for the first release."

I'm using a Mac layout keyboard and no issues with default keybinding, same as PC client. Only 2 bugs i noted during play included the irregular baseline of text - starts flat and within second becomes irregular. Interestingly, I recall that happening in one of the early PC client alpha versions (6 or 7). Other bug was that I could not adjust sliders for volume, either ambient or music. May not have been specific to Mac client as one of the party members said was happening on PC as well.

I interacted with bank, crafters, trainers, without incident. Trading with other players had no issues. Moved multiple items into and out of bank repeatedly with no problems. Forgot to do any testing of auction house yet. Used hot keys and icons to open info windows for feats, paper doll, etc. No issues. Mouseover tooltips worked same as PC client. Unslotted items and feats, reslotted all with no problems. Combat was no different then PC. Lost combat animations only once briefly in hours of combat, which compares to my experience on PC side. Occasional mild stuttering crossing hexes which I don't see often anymore on the PC.

In short, this first release of Mac client well exceeded my expectations and surprisingly seems at par to the alpha 12 PC client (and may be at par to alpha 13, i just haven't bothered using the PC client since).

Good show GW, keep up the good work :D

Edit: System info: 27inch iMac, late 2012, 3.4GHz Intel Core i7, 24GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048MB, running OS X 10.9.5.

Spent a couple of hours testing stability in non-combat activities. No crashes including run from TK to Rathglen through busy hexes. Exposed to multiple player characters though max of 4 within minimap area at any one time. Had one event where the ground disappeared in front of me halfway through a hex. Could see 2 wolves standing in the "air" where ground level would have been, clouds floating around otherwise. Didn't walk up to edge to see what was below :) No actual crash or other desync symptoms. Electively quit client on the assumption a crash would otherwise occur at some point, restarted, and resumed play uneventfully. No loss of material gathered, or sign of "rollback".

Gathered from all node types during run except mining (just didn't come across any on my route). Animations normal, speed normal, no difference in process from PC client. Encumbrance bar reflected changes.

Refined materials through Sawyer, and crafted Bowyer items without incident. Bought and posted for sale multiple items on Auction House in TK and client remained stable, no glitches. More player trading without incident. Haagen and I /waved, /danced, and played /rps without any problems (no animations for those yet).

Another good experience. Mac client is now my main way of playing.

Still needing to be checked - tutorials, tower interaction, company/settlement ui stuff
Anything else people can think of?

Nice! This backs up my experience too. I have been playing on the Mac extensively for the past few weeks and haven't had any problems that the Windows version didn't also have.

Thanks for taking the time to extensively test and report!

I really need to get some solid blocks of time away from work to install this and get some First Play thoughts put together.

Thanks for putting this thread up, Daeglin!

Upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.1 over the weekend, repeated above testing, and client continues to run smoothly on it. Average about one "crash"/boot from server every 2 hrs. One of which was entering Rotter's Hole on Sunday during the stress test (12 characters within minimap at the time).

I'll add my two cents: Every thing Daeglin has already said. Plus when I had to stay logged in all night to recoup reputation after the Bright Blood Bath, the game never froze. That's a good sign that yall are right on with it being a VRAM issues that is causing the freezes.

My only other issues I have encountered is this: When I open two clients, one on the Mac's screen and the other on a separate monitor, I have to avoid maximizing (not full-screen!) the window on the monitor. If I do, then when I close the clients and try to open one again later on the Mac screen, weird things happen. The window's dimensions are off and the top, gray bar ends up underneath the OS menu bar. As a result, the whole game window is non-responsive to my mouse. I have to fix the issue by entering and then leaving Full-screen.

tl;dr on #2: weird things happen when I close a maximized windowed client on a separate monitor, then try to open it on the Mac's screen.

The only problem i am having is that the mouse movement is to fast ingame. Would be great if there will be a some sort of settings to adjust it. But overall, great client!
