A simple question:
NPC drop basic light, medium and heavy armor, but AFAIK, they never drop cloth armor. The material cost of making one is relatively high so no one will make the basic versions to sell it to new players.
There is a way to get the basic arcane spellcaster armor without crafting it, like ti is possible to get the light/medium/heavy armors?

Which have interseting effects with encumbrance limits etc...
And that was the reason for my post. Even without crafting it a heavy armor, thank to its protective effect, last a long time as you don't die so often, but it encumber a lot.
My experience is that even wile moving in the wilderness you can "harvest" enough medium and heavy armors from the NPC to keep you clothed even if you get killed a lot.Cloth armor last way less and you very rarely find it (I have a vague recall of finding 1 or 2 pieces while playing the build n. 8. Never found one in the later builds).

I got one a few minutes ago, I also got a Pot armour ... Wonder if it is very dependet on which quarry you hunt, and if something has been adjusted lately, becaus I find the droppings are way less than I expected.
.... ooooor it could be that I raised history to 7 and harvests white skeletons right now. Getting less of T1 and there isnt much T2 drops from the whites. That would actually be in line with the philosophy GW has shown in other parts of the programming, as it makes me move from harvesting whites and wrestle with yellows instead.

I have gotten peasant clothes to drop, and robes to drop, but that might have been in previous builds.
I would like to see the randomness removed from NPC loot drops and the drops to match what they are actually wearing and using.
Want a long bow, kill Bandit Archers.
Want medium armore, kill Bandit Warriors or Escalation Clertics.
Want pelts, kill wolves.

There is a tendency for that, but I second that I also want a stronger thematic theme ... It breaks immersion really to get copper pieces from wolves ...
... and spells from non spell casters etc etc ...
It would also give more meaning to the grind of mob killing. If you want heavy armor and heavy weapon drops, go kill ogres.
If you want throwing axes and other light weapons, kill goblins.

Runespun Robes do drop but mainly from super low levels like gobbos and omega wolves (who carry a lot of armor and weapons around for some weird reason) it is not however all that common.
I was get may be two or three a night and I was literally killing 1000s of low levels every few hours (chasing green and a few other things) at the time. Have about 10 or 20 sets stashed in a vault somewhere. The more organised settlements like Brighthaven probably have hundreds.
There are players in game making higher level robes but you will need to trade them some mats to amke it worthwhile.

I got Runespun Robes yesterday; they're still in this build. Armor types have equal chances to drop, but armor category has only 10% chance total of all starter gear.
If you want starter gear focus on the mobs designed to drop it: bandit recruits and bandit archer recruits, omega wolves, goblin scouts.
I have starter cloth in the SE, but getting the enhanced versions with more keywords is better for someone that's been playing more than a week.

We were told a while ago that the we are looting the camp not the corpses. So if you clear wolves off of an abandoned bandit camp, copper pieces make sense.

Very cool, she should come to the event we have planned tonight starting at 5pm pacific at Keepers Pass. I will be a bit late due to work though I know a few others were going to try and make it.

Well 5pm pacific Monday is about midday Tuesday here so I will be at work myself. Kaziil has been in Sydney last few weeks so not sure what her internet situation is like but will let her know.
