I was researching potential additions for Varnhold Vanishing, and I came across this little bugger. VV's got a massive undead theme going (in contrast to the fey vibe in the metaplot), and this little guy -- the Red Jester -- bridges both of them. I know that if I threw him at my players, they'd think I was friggin' insane.

Yeah. That's my main objection to using this guy. "The jester throws a playing card at you, Barbarian. You (roll) are now Lawful Good." "The jester throws a card at you, Wizard. You (roll) have three wishes that you must use immediately."
If I use him, I'd probably replace the Deck of Many things with a random table of conditions or mid-level enchantment spells.

Some effects in the Deck of Many Things don't really translate well to Pathfinder - I'm thinking the ones that add or subtract XP or levels to/from an individual character. The default in Pathfinder is to have equal XP/levels across the party, not individual XP.
T.A.U., a Deck of Illusions could be interesting, although once the players realise they're illusions it sort of loses its impact.
Perhaps cards from a Harrow deck? It the target is struck, they're affected by the spell Harrowing as if they drew the card that hit them. The effect (Luck bonus or penalty to certain types of rolls) is pretty tame compared to the chaotic insanity of the Deck of Many Things though.
Pennywit, if you do come up with a Deck of Mid-Level Enchantments, please share :)

What if some of the cards in the Deck of Illusions are instead real summon spell and some other are simply illusions?
That should be very challenging.Let's say the 40-50% of the cards are instead real summons spells which last for only few rounds (1d4? 1d4+1?)
