Hi there! I'm new to Pathfinder and the society, played my first society game on Saturday, and I was hooked!
At the time, I was using the pregenerated monk character, and I was told I could edit the character sheet until he was level 2, so I made some changes. However, there's something that bothers me which I want clarification on.
The pregenerated monk could speak two languages, Common and Vudrani. However, his int is only 10, no modifier so he shouldn't get an extra language [he doesn't have linguistics either]. I want my adjusted monk to also speak common and Vudrani, but his INT is only 8.
What i want to know, is there a way to have my Monk speak both common and Vudrani? This is more a background flavor thing [his background is mostly the same], I don't see it having a great mechanical bonus or anything.
Thank you in advance for your help and advise.

Thank you Rei! That works perfectly, cause my character would be from the same place.
Is there a specific place in the books or SRD which state that? Not that I don't believe you, just in case I need to bring proof to a GM for a Pathfinder Society game.
I believe player companions has the bonus regional languages, as to which one Vadra cover I do not know..
I do know that the Humans of Galorian covers a bunch

Step 3: Languages
Your race and class selection impact
what languages you start with. All
characters gain Common as a free
language. You gain free languages
granted by your race, ethnicity (for
humans), and class (e.g., Druidic for
druids). If you have a high Intelligence
modifier, you may select bonus languages
from those listed in your race’s entry in
the Core Rulebook and the Modern Human
Languages list (The Inner Sea World Guide
251). Certain classes grant access to additional
bonus languages (e.g., Draconic for wizards).
Humans and half-elves with high Intelligence
scores may learn all the above languages as
bonus languages as well as any other language
except Druidic and the languages listed under
Ancient Languages on page 251 of The Inner
Sea World Guide. All languages except
Druidic are available by putting a skill rank in Linguistics
(see below). Tian characters receive the languages Tien and
Common for free.
The entry in the GTOP does not mention owning. However, if you look at the Additional Resources guide the legality of it is listed for Inner Sea World Guide. I would say you need the guide, but since it's not stated in the character creation-language section of the GTOP some could argue that it's legal regardless.
Though, without actually owning the book (or pdf) and you have an ethnic language without otherwise qualifying for it (via linguistics or int headband or whatever) and a GM asks to see the source proving it's an ethnic language you'd be SOL without actually having ISWG.
