Bekah and the Rapier

When using Bekah from the Bard class deck she has the following ability:

"For your check that has or is against a card that has the finesse trait, you gain the skill Melee: Dexterity +1"

My confusion is with the interaction of Bekah and the Rapier. One of the starting weapons for Bards is the Rapier which has the keyword Finesse on it.

Am I correct in assuming that when Bekah uses the Rapier she get to use here Dexterity die and a +1 modifier for here combat?

Also am I correct in assuming if Bekah would fight a monster with a Finesse keyword she could use here Dexterity die with a +1 modifier?

Correct. Playing the rapier adds its traits to your check, which includes the Finesse trait. Which then triggers her ability.

Same for encountering boons/banes that have the Finesse trait.

Yes, all is correct except that I don't think any banes (monsters or barriers) have the Finesse trait. The "or is against a card" text is mainly so you can more easily acquire finesse weapons.

For example, Lem from the S&S base set encounters a cool new magic Rapier. Cool! But it has a Strength or Melee 11 to acquire. If it wasn't for his finesse ability and how it interacts with weapons he encounters, he'd be stuck trying to use his d4 Strength to get the card. Not good chances, even if he blows a Blessing and uses his inspiration ability on himself. This was an issue that came up in the playtest and I'm happy with the final version that was used.

I don't think any do either. But, considering I haven't seen all the cards in the game yet, I didn't want to discount the possibility of a bane showing up in the future with the Finesse trait. :)
